Instructions for Tubshowers and Showers

Before Starting:

NOTE: A frame similar to this will be required if you are building a new bathroom. If unit is being installed in an existing bathroom, simply insert your new 3 piece tubshower in the same location as the old bathtub.

  • Remove the unit from the carton. Do not destroy the cardboard until you have inspected the unit carefully. Should your inspection reveal any damage or defect in the finish, do not install the unit – contact your distributor immediately. The warranty does not cover damages or defects to the finish claimed after the bath has been installed. Longevity’s responsibility for shipping damages ceases upon delivery of the product in good order to the carrier. Refer any claims for damages to the carrier.

  • It is always recommended to have a professional and competent plumber do the plumbing installations.

  • Please note if for any reason you must drill a hole in an acrylic fixture, always start drilling on acrylic surface and drill through (hole saw recommended).

  • To protect the unit during installation, we recommend that you put a piece of cardboard on the bottom of the tub.

  • If the unit is covered with a polyethylene film, remove the protective film at the last moment to grant maximum protection during installation procedures. However, remove film where surfaces will be in permanent contact with another surface.

  • Build a solid frame inside 1/2" to 3/4" using dimensions listed in the technical data. Please note that all three piece units will require notching in the frame to accommodate joints.

  • Check that floor is level, adjust as necessary.

  • The drain location on the tub/shower is shown but actual installation will depend on waste/overflow which is purchased separately.

  • Place unit into framework, shim as necessary and plum vertical.

  • Install plumbing fixtures according to individual manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Fasten the unit to the frame using drywall screws. Be carful not to over tighten or bury the screws as this may cause the acrylic to crack.

  • Test the installation before finishing around with trim.

  • Remove the protective tape from the unit and clean with a mild cleaner to remove construction dirt and residue.
