Preparation, Installation and Maintenance Instructions
for Bathtubs, Whirlpools and Therapeutics

Before Starting:

  • Remove the unit from the carton. Do not destroy the cardboard until you have inspected the unit carefully. Should your inspection reveal any damage or defect in the finish, do not install the unit – contact your distributor immediately. The warranty does not cover damages or defects to the finish claimed after the bath has been installed. Longevity’s responsibility for shipping damages ceases upon delivery of the product in good order to the carrier. Refer any claims for damages to the carrier.

  • It is always recommended to have a professional and competent plumber do the plumbing installations.

  • Please note if for any reason you must drill a hole in an acrylic fixture, always start drilling on acrylic surface and drill through (hole saw recommended).

  • To protect the unit during installation, we recommend that you put a piece of cardboard on the bottom of the tub.

  • If the unit is covered with a polyethylene film, remove the protective film at the last moment to grant maximum protection during installation procedures. However, remove film where surfaces will be in permanent contact with another surface.

  • Do not build a frame and sit the tub into it until the tub is installed, plumbed, shimmed and tested. Doing so can result in cracks on the deck if the tub is not firmly sitting on the floor. The acrylic tub must be installed level to ensure proper operation and drainage. Since all floors are not level, shimming of the base may be required. All shims used to level base should be nailed or screwed into place.

  • Electrical power supply must have ground fault breaker in circuit.

  • Shower fittings of your choice can be installed as per manufacturers instructions.

  • Dimensions vary from a tub only, whirlpools and therapeutics. It is always best to have the tub on site before preparing to install for accurate height dimension.

  • Waste and overflow is supplied with all therapeutic systems. Whirlpool tubs do not come with waste and overflow.

  • Always ensure access to motors and blowers as the manufacturer can not be held responsible for removal of tiles etc. should warranty work be required.

  • Always test installation. Fill with water and test all working pump parts before closing around the tub with finishing trim.

  • Remove the protective tape from the unit and clean with a mild cleaner to remove construction dirt and residue.
